Disjointed
I spend so much time coming up with ways to make automate my work and a few of the anachronisms of the library seem to spend that much more time coming up with ways to put kinks in my perfect chain.
Speaking of work, there is some sneaky shit going on around here. The secretary’s getting away with using comp time from 1993 that by company policy expired in 1994 and people from other departments are being placed in vacant cubicles that belong to our department without a word to us.
I watched Altered States last night. There’s probably a lot more of William Hurt’s naked body in it than anyone really needs to see, but it really is an incredible movie. Ennuiprayer informs me that it’s in the bargain bin at Wal-Mart. Trailer:
It’s been a long time since I really had control over the television, so the last few nights I’ve been up watching movies on my computer after the squid goes to sleep. I should be using that time to do homework, but sometimes I feel like I’ve got to take back these little pieces of myself when I have these quiet moments. There are always a million things I should be doing, but the quiet moments are so rare that sometimes I just have to take advantage and watch a movie or read a book or listen to some music. I manage to get housework and homework done, so I don’t see any harm in stepping out of my mom skin for a while (it fits a little snug anyway, and I need to breathe).
Speaking of homework, I’ve got to do some by the end of Saturday. Maybe I’ll spend the rest of the work day doing that. It’s more likely that I’ll put it off for tomorrow morning though.
I keep these dreams where shit happens, but that shit turns my life around in an incredibly positive way and I wake up disappointed that none of it happened. Then I spend every spare moment daydreaming about that shit happening. I feel like I’m constantly in a waking dream. I wonder if I’d believe it the events I dream of ever really did happen. I wonder if life isn’t just some crazy boring dream.
Jacob’s Ladder is next on the list.
